as i said in another post: actions speak louder than words.
muslims were angered by the pope's quoting a 14th century writer who said that muslims are violent in nature.. in order to disprove this statement many muslims took too the streets shouting violent slogans and burned an effigy of the pope.
still more muslims demonstrated that they are not violent by firebombing random churches.. yup... actions speak louder than words.
I agree that these actions are wrong wrong wrong, and far from a brilliant response, but please do not put the actions of a minority of muslims on the shoulders of the majority, nor attribute it to the teachings of the religion itself. Please. Think about it. If we all felt this way and were responding this way the whole world might well be in flames as about 1/5th of humanity is muslim. But we don't and it isn't. Ok?

even looking at some muslim websites, you will see jesus shown to be evil and the christian faith to be a terrible group of people.
so with this, why does minor comments on them and cartoons about their founder make them so extreme?
...Muslim, Christian and Jewish heroes and criminals were all reading the same Torah, Bible and Qur?an, but certainly interpreting it differently. I do not believe that those evil ones among any of our communities represent any religion. Human beings can find in any scripture both the inspiration for greatness or a justification for evil. We all have te capability of producing extremists of the most brutal kind, and Christianity, Judaism, and Islam have all been used as a justification for such brutality.
As Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has said: ?We condemn the abuse of religion by fanatics whose sole purpose is to rouse hate and beget further violence. Nothing is as antithetical to all religion and especially to Islam, as the wanton violence. ... We cry out against such violence, and seek to console those who have suffered from it. ... Never again should apply to everyone - so that the injustices of the past are not repeated. We need to decide if we will allow the hatemongers to turn Islam into the enemy because some extremists misrepresent it to justify their crimes. We have seen in humanity?s history that choosing the path of villifying one particular racial, ethnic, or religious group can lead us into very dark places. We owe our children a better future than the one that would be created by a clash of civilizations or a clash of religions, and those who want to lead us down this path again must be resisted.

a man that works at the corner has been especially nice to the kids and i over the last years.
he had to go back to pakistan recently for 6 months.
he did get married during this time.

my mom told me that the new elder that just got appointed 6 months ago was now deleted.
this young man is in his early 30's, unmarried, and now history.
what could've happened??
To make it match up they should say "brother so and so has been INSERTED as an Elder" when someone is appointed.
Along those lines, another match-up could be "disappointed" I guess.

well, my mum is going on the musuem tour this weekend.... she is going to do two different tours, one of them being the tour that will include information regarding jerusalems destruction.. please, ya know just hope or if you can pray for my mum and lets see what happens.
i don't know if i should say anything to her before she goes that would open her eyes to certain things?.
either way, depending on how this ends after a chat on her return it will be the end of my trying to help her i think, not sure.

first in april - i get a call from two elder's trying to set up a meeting i assume [ i told them not interested in speaking to them and hung up ] some may recall that thread.. then last month - two more show up at the house, and wifey ignores them at the door.
